What does a medically supervised weight-loss plan include?

Dr. Hassan works directly with you to develop a weight-loss plan that fits your goals and lifestyle. His program includes a diet plan and the prescription weight-loss medication phentermine (if needed).

As you get closer to your goal weight, Dr. Hassan may modify your plan to help you maintain your weight loss.

Can I lose weight quickly?

Rate of weight loss varies from person to person. Dr. Hassan works with you to develop realistic weekly weight loss goals.

While you may lose weight quickly during the first month or so of the weight-loss program, slowing down to a one- to two-pound weekly weight loss is acceptable and healthy until you reach your goal weight.

What type of diet do I follow?

Dr. Hassan’s diet plan consists of a variety of healthy food choices. It’s not a starvation or fad diet. His goal is to help you lose weight and learn how to eat right to keep the weight off.

A healthy weight-loss diet is filled with nutritious foods from all four food groups, including fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, low-fat dairy, whole grains, and healthy fats. These foods not only maximize your nutrient intake, but they also keep you feeling full.

What is an appetite suppressant?

An appetite suppressant is a weight-loss medication that reduces your appetite, so you eat less. Dr. Hassan prescribes the medication to help you in your weight loss efforts. Appetite suppressants alone can’t help you lose weight. It works best when combined with Dr. Hassan’s diet plan.

Dr. Hassan prescribes appetite suppressants for only a short period, usually three to six weeks, to help jumpstart your weight loss efforts.
